How It Works

From first consultation to completion in five steps. Your part is mainly gathering the required documents and signing.

Step 1

Consultation

Contact us by phone, email or the form. We'll listen to your situation and tell you whether we can help or whether you need a different kind of specialist.

Free, up to 60 min

Step 2

Quote

We give you a written quote covering fees, costs and timeline. Once you agree, we sign a power of attorney and a service contract.

1–2 days after consultation

Step 3

Gathering documents

We give you a checklist of required documents. Anything we can request ourselves, such as family registers or registry certificates, we collect for you.

1–3 weeks

Step 4

Application & filing

We prepare the full application, ask you to review it, and file it with the authorities. If the office requests corrections, we handle them.

Review takes 1 week – 3 months, depending on the procedure

Step 5

Completion & handover

We hand over your permit or copies and settle the bill. When a renewal date approaches, we'll remind you.

FAQ

Questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, please feel free to ask.

What's the difference between a Gyoseishoshi Lawyer, a judicial scrivener and a tax accountant?

Gyoseishoshi Lawyers prepare permit applications for government offices and documents such as contracts and estate division agreements. Real estate and company registrations are handled by judicial scriveners, and tax returns by tax accountants. If your matter belongs to another specialist, we'll introduce someone we trust — so please start by talking to us.

Can I come just for a consultation?

Yes. The first 60 minutes are free. Most people want to hear us out before deciding, so please don't hesitate. There is no charge if it ends with a consultation.

Can I consult in the evening or on weekends?

With an appointment, we're available on weekday evenings (until 8 pm). We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. If daytime is difficult because of work, please mention your preferred time when you contact us.

When do I pay?

Once you accept the quote, we ask for half of the fee plus estimated costs, and the rest on completion. For larger amounts, we can discuss installments.

I live far away. Can I still ask for help?

Yes. We work with clients nationwide through online consultations and mail. Depending on where you need to file, a local Gyoseishoshi Lawyer may be faster — if so, we'll tell you honestly.
